Collection: Bergin Hunt & Fish Club

The Bergin Hunt and Fish Club was a Gambino crime family hangout, synonymous with former Gambino boss John Gotti. It was located at 98-04 101st Avenue in Ozone Park, in the New York City borough of Queens).

A favorite spot of John Gotti and later his son, John A. (Junior) Gotti.

The Bergin Hunt and Fish Club became world-famous as John Gotti’s not-so-secret base of operations. It was also later used by his brother and successor as Gambino boss, Peter Gotti.

John Gotti AKA "The Dapper Don" was a neighborhood fixture in Ozone Park for many years. It is said that he charmed local business owners and residents and annually hosted extravagant Fourth of July celebrations.

The FBI first recorded the Gotti's voice in the early ’1980s at the Bergin Hunt and Fish Club. It didn't look like much from the outside - just a pair of nondescript brick storefronts that were actually connected on the inside.

Local residents and business owners said there were always a lot going on inside and outside the club, with guys coming and going all the time. If the weather was nice, the crew would stand outside and talk.

The club was finally closed in 2005, marking the end of a notorious era in the Mafia.

Since the infamous club closed the premises has been home top various businesses including a health club, a printing shop, a medical supplies company and a pet grooming salon.
